FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

You can buy our Fibrotech acoustic panels at a Bauhaus near you or online on www.bauhaus.info.

Fibrotech acoustic panels consist of recycled polyester, MDF panels and oak veneer.

Our Fibrotech acoustic panels are available in lengths of 2440 mm or 3000 mm. The width is always 600 mm.

To achieve a measurable acoustic effect, you must cover the ceiling and wall in accordance to 25% of the floor space in the room.

Our panels can be mounted on the ceiling as well as on the wall.

You must always mount the Fibrotech panels on a pre-approved construction. The panels do not have a special fire permit, as they are used as a decorative element.

We recommend the installation of BASIC panels in rooms with a relative humidity of less than 55 %. If you want to use panels in the bathroom, we recommend our UNIKA panels, which are suitable for rooms with high humidity. Our UNIKA tiles have a laminate surface, which is very suitable in contrast to real wood veneer in rooms with higher humidity.

Always use black fibrotech screws for mounting. These screws become invisible in the black polyester foil.

When mounting on a wall, both mounting glue and screws can be used. When installing panels as a ceiling cladding, screws must always be used.

All panels are cut from above, as this gives the most beautiful cut. You can then sharpen the edges with a fine sandpaper, as these can be slightly frayed when cutting. Use ordinary woodworking tools for cutting (hand saws, jigsaws).

Tones consist of waves - sound waves.

When you hear noises, they are actually sound waves that hit your ears and then register in your brain as tones. When a sound wave - as with a loud sound - has a lot of energy, it takes longer for the sound waves to subside.

If you want to improve the acoustics of a room, the aim is to control the reflections in the room in such a way that the sound is stopped or attenuated. In general, you do this by applying sound absorbing materials to the surfaces on which the sound is reflected. Most are the walls and ceilings.

The FibroTech plates are best applied to the surfaces on which the sound occurs rapidly. This is usually the ceiling or a large wall in the room.

It does not matter whether you place your soundproofing materials on the walls or on the ceiling. The most important thing is to place them on areas where the sound occurs quickly.

A rule of thumb is: Cover ceiling or walls with sound absorbing material in accordance to 25 % of the floor surface to maintain good acoustics.

One can generally say that all building materials have a sound classification.

There are two options for installation. This kind of way affects the sound class:

Sound class D: Mounting the tiles directly on the wall without mineral wool

Sound class A: Mounting the plates on slats on the wall with mineral wool behind them.
